How SysRoot uses cookies and similar technologies.

This policy explains the cookies, local storage, tags, and similar technologies used on sysroot.io. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. Your Choices
Optional technologies are disabled by default. You may accept all, reject all, or choose analytics and advertising separately. Your choice applies across sysroot.io and is retained for up to 24 months, after which we ask again. You can withdraw or change your choice at any time through Cookie Settings in the footer.
Rejecting optional technologies does not prevent access to the website or contact form.
2. Necessary Storage
- sysroot_cookie_consent_v2 - first-party local storage used to remember necessary, analytics, and advertising choices, the policy version, and the date of the choice. It is retained for up to 24 months.
This storage is necessary to remember your privacy choices and is not used for analytics or advertising.
3. Analytics: Microsoft Clarity
Provider: Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited. Purpose: to understand navigation, clicks, scrolling, page performance, and usability through aggregated analytics, heatmaps, and masked session recordings. Legal basis: consent. Clarity is loaded only when Analytics is accepted.
- _clck - first-party identifier and Clarity preferences; up to 1 year.
- _clsk - connects page views into one Clarity session; up to 1 day.
- CLID - identifies when Clarity first saw a browser; typically up to 1 year.
- ANONCHK - controls transfer of the Microsoft browser identifier; approximately 10 minutes.
- MR - indicates whether the Microsoft browser identifier should be refreshed; approximately 7 days.
- MUID and SM - Microsoft browser identification and synchronization; provider-controlled, with SM normally lasting for the browser session.
Microsoft currently retains Clarity playback data for 30 days and aggregated click or heatmap data for up to 9 months. Microsoft may update cookie names or durations; its current list is available in the Clarity cookie documentation.
4. Advertising: Google Ads
Provider: Google Ireland Limited. Purpose: campaign attribution and measuring whether an advertising click results in a contact request or another conversion. Legal basis: consent. The Google tag is loaded only when Advertising is accepted.
- _gcl_* - first-party Google Ads attribution and conversion cookies; up to 90 days.
- Google may use additional advertising cookies on Google or DoubleClick domains. Depending on browser, region, and Google settings, these may last for the session or up to 13 months in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland.

5. Consent and Withdrawal
Consent is communicated to Google using Google Consent Mode v2 and to Microsoft using the Clarity Consent API v2. Withdrawing consent updates those services immediately so they stop using optional storage for future activity. You may also delete existing cookies through your browser settings.
6. International Data Transfers
Google and Microsoft may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where applicable, transfers rely on an adequacy decision such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or safeguards such as the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses. 7. Browser Controls
Browsers allow you to view, block, and delete cookies or local storage. Browser deletion may remove the saved consent choice, in which case the website will ask for your preferences again.
